Cajun Spiced Potatoes
Cajun spiced Potatoes is such a simple yet amazingly delicious and flavourful recipe. I always loved this dish served at the very popular Indian restaurant called BBQ Nation. Fried baby potatoes are served with a wonderful Cajun spiced sauce. This dish makes an amazing starter or can be served as a side to go along with barbecued meat.
Ingredients
- Baby Potatoes - 10
- Corn flour - 5 tsp
- All purpose flour (maida) - 2 tsp
- Cajun spiced sauce
- Mayonnaise - 3 tbsp
- Tomato Sauce - 1 tbsp
- Dried Oregano - 1/2 tsp
- Paprika/kashmirilal - 1 tsp
- Garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- Onion Powder ( optional) - 1/2 tsp
- Black Pepper powder ( kali Mirch) - a sprinkle
- Red Chilli Flakes - 1/4 tsp
- salt - if needed
Instructions
Make a smooth paste of corn flour and APF using water.The paste should be very thin just good enough to lightly coat the potatoes.Lightly mash the baby potatoes.Dip them in the cornflour mix and deep fry until they are nice and crispy. Take them out on a kitchen towel.
To make the Cajun spiced Sauce
Mix all the ingredients for the sauce mayo, tomato sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, chilli flakes, oregano, paprika and pepper mix well..check seasoning and add salt only if required. Now place the fried potatoes on the serving plate and drizzle this Cajun sauce over them. Garnish with some spring onion greens and Cajun Spiced Potatoes are ready to serve.
